We spent memorial Day in Rhode Island for my uncle's wake — an unexpected one-day event. The drive to Rhode Island was nice. We made it in 2½ hours and that included a stop at McDonald's for emergency chicken nuggets. The ride home was much longer because of sun glare. All of I-95 needed to stop every 500 feet to adjust their visors. With a quick stop for dinner, we made it home just under 4 hours, around 10:30 pm.
Then my husband woke me up at 6:30 to announce that he has a cold. Then my son climbed in my bed with about fifty cars.
So I'm tired today and have tons of laundry to do and no quarters for the machines downstairs. The kitchen is also a disaster but I'm pretending that room doesn't exist. And the new treadmill in my bedroom needs to be used.
And that's that for now...
Sorry for the loss of your uncle.

Sorry about your uncle. Dont you just love long road trips with a toddler. I am always reminded of our 8 hour ride in a blizzard from Ivanovo to Moscow with a driver who had no idea of how to get to our agency or our hotel. Kevin threw up all over Mike and himself an hour before we made it to the hotel in a car stuffed with 6 people. good times.

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. I'm almost more sorry to hear your husband is sick, bc we all know what babies they are?!
